Tanmay Bhat’s hiring form goes viral: You can get the job if you can answer ‘controversial opinions’ and ‘the meaning of life?’
Comedian Tanmay Bhat, known for AIB roast, is making waves online with a creative job application for his second YouTube channel. The form asks unusual questions about controversial opinions and the meaning of life. It also sought candidates wit...

A job form that asks more than your resume
Announcing the opening, Bhat wrote: “Hello, looking for a content producer for my second channel. Somebody into business, start ups, health, finance, pop culture (basically my twitter timeline) so thought I’d put it out here on Twitter itself. Here’s a form to apply: Thank you!”Those who opened the form found a set of questions that focus less on marksheets and more on how candidates think. Among the most talked-about prompts are: “Tell me 2 of what you think are your most controversial opinions,” and, “What is the meaning of life?”
Other questions ask applicants to share their favourite entrepreneur, a favourite subreddit, three tweets that recently caught their attention, and one insight about money they find fascinating. The form also asks candidates what they feel about AI and how they use it in their daily life, if at all. It even asks for views on Bryan Johnson, the technology entrepreneur known for his high-profile experiments to slow ageing.
Basics still matter
Despite the playful tone, the application keeps the essentials. Candidates must still share their name, age, current role, location, salary expectations and examples of past work.Social media calls it ‘creative’ and ‘tough’
The internet responded quickly, with many praising the originality of the hiring process. One user remarked, “Probably Tougher than IIT Bombay hedge fund quant selection process.”
Another wrote, “No MBA will prepare you for this interview. No MBA will match the opportunity this role provides.”
A third comment read, “What an insanely cool hiring form! 1 technical question and 20 life questions.”
One X user stated: “Hey Tanmay, I am not into podcast production, but I saw the form, and it’s something different and unique. I liked it. Most people fill these job forms using AI. You’ve mentioned questions here that AI can’t answer. I’ll just fill it up, just because the questions are fun.”
Another social media user observed: “No degree can help you with this. It's crazy creative.”
Many people said they filled out the form just for the experience, calling it an engaging mental exercise.
Why the format is getting attention
The unusual format suggests Bhat is looking for someone who understands internet culture, business trends and storytelling — not just someone with a polished CV. By asking about opinions, money, AI and life itself, the form tries to spot originality and curiosity. In a crowded job market where most applications look the same, this approach has turned the hiring process into a conversation starter online.
