It is alleged that the director had borrowed money a few years back from PVP to produce a film, 'Yenni Ezhu Naalukulla' starring Karthi and Samantha, which bombed in the theatre. Then the company took legal action against him, over the non-payment of the loan amount. The check that was sent bounced back due to insufficient funds in the bank.

The most well know one being the case filed by the popular Telugu production house PVP Cinema which came up for a final hearing today at the Saidapet Court in Chennai.
The judge has sentenced Lingusamy and his brother Subash Chandrabose to six month imprisonment in connection with the case. Sources state that Lingusamy and his brother have decided appeal the sentence and have already started the formalities.
