Tamil Actor Maayi Sundar of ‘Vennil Kabadi Kuzhu’ fame passes away at 50

Tamil Actor Maayi Sundar of Vennila Kabadi Kuzhu fame died on December 24, 2022 at 2.45 a.m. due to health issues. Actor Sampathram announced his close companion Maayi Sundar's death in a Facebook post.

Maai Sundar has appeared in over fifty films, including Maayi, Thullatha Manamum Thullum, Vennila Kabadi Kuzhu, Kullanari Kootam, Milakai, Silkuvar Patti Singham, Gatta Kusthi, and Katchikkaran.

He died while being treated for jaundice at his birthplace of Mannargudi. His co-star Hari Vairavain, who played Vishnu Vishal's pal Vennila Kabadi Kuzhu and Kullanari Kootam, died just a few days ago. Prominent actor, Nitish Veera, who co-starred with Maayi Sundar in Vennila Kabadi Kuzhu Part 1 and 2, died a year ago from COVID.


Maayi Sundar had a very elaborate career as an actor. He starred in four films directed by Vishnu Vishal namely, Vennila Kabadi Kuzhu, Kullanari Kootam, Silkuvar Patti Singam and Gatta Kusthi. Several snippets from his new film Katchikaaran have become popular on social media platforms.

Since he owed his fame to the Maayi movie, he prefixed the name of the movie to his own name. He played the leading role in the movie “Maayi” along with Sarath Kumar, Meena and Vaigai Puyal Vadivelu.

Maayi was directed by Suriya Prakash and produced by prominent film producer RB Chowdry under his well-established production company Super Good Films.
