Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah actor Lalit Manchanda found dead in Meerut, police suspect suicide linked to stress

Actor Lalit Manchanda was found dead at his home in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, on Monday, 21 April. According to a TOI report, the 36-year-old actor is believed to have died by suicide. His body was found hanging inside his house.

The police arrived soon after receiving a call about the incident. His body was taken for a post-mortem examination. No suicide note was found at the scene, and there were no signs of foul play, police confirmed.

Friends, fans, and people from the film and TV world have been left shocked and heartbroken. Local media reports suggest that Lalit had been facing mental stress and personal struggles in recent months.


Lalit was known for playing small but memorable roles in Bollywood films and television shows. He was also said to be working on a web series that he was very hopeful about.

On Tuesday, the Cine and TV Artistes’ Association (CINTAA) paid tribute to Lalit Manchanda on their official Instagram account. They shared a photo of the actor with a message that read, “CINTAA expresses its condolences on the demise of Lalit Manchanda (member since 2012).”

Many remembered Lalit not only for his work but also for his kind nature and the passion he brought to every role. He was last seen in a cameo in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, and a picture of him with actor Dilip Joshi has been widely shared online.

Police are now speaking with his family and close friends to try and understand what may have led to this tragic event. The absence of a note has raised further questions, and investigators are looking into his recent activities and mental health.
