ET Spotlight Special
Indian actor Taapsee Pannu who is currently receiving critical acclaim for her film 'Blurr', recently faced backlash from netizens after slamming paparazzi in an unwelcome gesture. When the actress expressed concern about the paparazzi's interaction, she was labelled arrogant. The actress has now responded to the situation.

A video of the actress becoming irritated and lecturing the paparazzi went viral on social media. Taapsee was seen getting into her car while the paparazzi held the door open. Taapsee was visibly irritated and told the photographers, "aise mat Karo," expressing her displeasure.

Taapsee told India Today, "It bothers me because, after a while, I realised they're doing it knowing they're going to irritate me". Why will you keep my car door open after I've gotten in? This is invading my personal space. Will you like it if you get into your car and there are people holding the car door, not letting you shut it, and shoving the camera in your face?"

"Would you like it if you were a girl or a boy? I walk around without bodyguards. Because of that, you have the right to physically shove your cameras and microphones into me and not give me the breathing space of a regular human being just because I'm a public figure. It allows you to infringe on my personal space."

"Then, obviously, the icing on the cake is when the media reports that I'm arrogant. If I'm arrogant to ask for basic human respect for space, then so be it, but I'm not going to sugar-coat it and be extra nice just because I'm in front of this camera. That is not who I am. What you see is what you get!"

Taapsee Pannu was recently seen in the film Blurr, which was recently released on Zee5. She will next be seen in Shah Rukh Khan's ‘Dunki’ and ‘Woh Ladki Hai Kahaan’.
