The Footage
The CCTV footage, recorded in a residential building in Noida, shows a delivery worker descending the stairs after completing his delivery. The video has sparked a range of reactions online, with some viewers expressing anger while others show sympathy for his apparent need for shoes.
About the footage
In the video, the delivery boy doesn't just grab the first pair of shoes he sees; he inspects two pairs carefully. Initially, he picks up a pair of sandals but then takes a moment to consider a second pair from beneath. Ultimately, he decides to pocket the second pair before leaving the scene. This has prompted a heated discussion among netizens, with some viewing his actions as driven by need, while others see it as outright theft. Many speculate that the CCTV placement seems particularly focused on the shoe rack, suggesting this might not be an isolated incident.
One of the users wrote that “it could be that this poor guy is very needy and really needs a pair of shoes, and maybe it won’t make a difference to the owner. But stealing is not good. Maybe he thought that if he asked for the shoes, the owner would refuse, so that’s why he decided to steal, perhaps.”
Another use said, ‘It is very common. I have heard many stories where Swiggy Zomato delivery boys come for food delivery, and sometimes they steal away taps and gas cylinders.”
A third said, “CCTV camera is watching you..but due to helmet, I couldn’t see his face.” A user wrote, “CVC cameras helped in finding the culprit.”
