Sweet Tooth Season 3 has been officially announced, after filming in secret from late 2022 to early 2023. This will mark the final season of the Netflix series, and fans are eager for more details. Sweet Tooth, based on Jeff Lemire's beloved comic book series, originally planned to debut on Hulu but instead premiered on Netflix in 2021. The second season of the show became available worldwide on April 27, 2023.

Netflix announced that the third season of the show will be the last, just a few days after the second season premiered.

Jim Mickle confirmed on Twitter that both the second and third seasons of the show were filmed simultaneously. Netflix officially announced the news of the two seasons' back-to-back filming. Moreover, the directors Ciaran Foy, Carol Banker, Toa Fraser, and Jim Mickle are set to return for the third season of Sweet Tooth. The season will consist of eight episodes, and the writers for each episode have been announced by the WGA. The writers include Noah Griffith & Daniel Stewart, Zaike LaPorte Airey, Carly Woodworth, Kseniya Melnik & Noah Griffith & Daniel Stewart, Oanh Ly & Daniel G. King, Bo Yeon Kim & Erika Lippoldt, and Noah Griffith & Daniel Stewart. Jim Mickle, who directed the first two seasons of the show, will write the final episode of the third season.
