Suspended BJP leader Seema Patra's son helped me to come out of 8-year long captivity: Rescued domestic help

Jharkhand police has arrested the suspended BJP leader Seema Patra, wife of a retired IAS officer, on allegations of torturing her 29-year-old tribal help Sunita. The arrest comes after a video went viral in which Sunita narrated how the suspended BJP leader tortured her for eight years.

In the video, Sunita, was seen on a hospital bed with injury marks all over her body and face. The 29-year-old woman has accused the suspended BJP leader of holding her captive and brutally torturing her.

Sunita has alleged that she was held captive by Patra for eight years and was beaten with rods and iron pan. She also accused that Patra used to force to lick urine off the floor. "She also broke my teeth with an iron rod," Sunita alleged.


Sunita revealed that it was Ms Patra's son Ayushman who had helped her.

Acting on a tip-off from a government employee, the Ranchi Police had rescued the woman from Patra's residence last week after Patra's son narrated Sunita's situation to a friend and asked him to help. According to reports, his friend Vivek Anand Baskey, Station Officer at the Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms, then registered a complaint with the police.

According to some reports, Patra tried to cover up the situation by admitting her son to Ranchi Institute of Neuro-Psychiatry and Allied Sciences when she got a hint that he was trying to help the domestic help.
