Suryakumar Yadav sets incredible T20 record in game-changing year
In 28 innings this year, Suryakumar has scored 1,026 runs at an average of 44.60. One century and nine half-centuries have come out of his bat, with the best score of 117. These runs have come at a strike rate of 186.24

Yadav's 61 (not out) off 25 balls against Zimbabwe not only helped India post a massive 186-run total in their T20 World Cup group game but also pushed his personal T20 run count past 1000 for the year. In a mammoth performance, he smashed six fours and four sixes at a strike rate of 244.00.
The 32-year-old becomes the first Indian batsman to score a thousand runs in a calendar year and the second batsman ever to do it.
Suryakumar Yadav has amassed 1,026 runs at an average of 44.60 in 28 innings and still has at least one T20 game to play, unless India reach the final, in which case he will have two more.
In 2021, Pakistan wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan scored 1,326 runs at an average of 73.66. Rizwan scored a century and 12 half-centuries that year, with a high score of 104 (not out).
Rizwan’s haul last year, however, was achieved from 983 balls, whereas Yadav’s total has been hit off just 550, made more impressive by the fact that the Indian batsman comes in at number four, severly reducing the number of deliveries available for his exploits.
