Koli’s death comes less than a year after the Supreme Court acquitted him in the last remaining case linked to the Nithari killings.

Surendra Koli had reportedly been residing in Haridwar for the past few months and had recently rented a tea stall in the city. Police said they received information about the incident at around 11 am on Friday and reached the spot shortly afterwards.Police suspect suicide, no note found
According to Haridwar police, Koli allegedly died by suicide by hanging. No suicide note has been recovered so far. Police said a preliminary inquiry suggests that a family dispute may have been a possible reason, although the circumstances are still being investigated.Koli, Pandher were accused in Nithari killings
Koli and businessman Moninder Singh Pandher were accused in the 2006 Nithari serial killings case. The case came to light after skeletal remains of eight children were discovered in a drain behind Pandher's house in Noida.[With TOI inputs]
