Super Buck Moon 2022: All you need to know about the biggest supermoon of 2022
As per the NASA's official website, the super full moon referred as the buck moon, can be observed on July 13 at 2:38 PM EDT (12:08 AM IST). This will be the second supermoon of 2022.

The previous supermoon - a heady shade of red - was christened a strawberry moon as it was observed on the full moon during the strawberry harvest. The second supermoon this year has been named the buck moon as this is the time of year when male deers - bucks - see the growth of new antlers.
June's strawberry supermoon was the first full moon of summer this year and was the last full moon of spring because of Aphelion (the time at which the earth's orbit is furthest away from the sun).
Interestingly, this time around, the buck supermoon is happening around the time when the Sun is at its farthest from the earth’s orbit. On July 13, the Moon will be only 3,57,264 kilometers away from the Earth.
On NASA’s official website, the space agency says that “the next supermoon will be on Wednesday afternoon, July 13, 2022, at 2:38 p.m. EDT(12:08 a.m. IST)"
What is a supermoon?
These occurrences are a feast for the eyes, with photographers and sky watchers enraptured every time.
As the moon is intrinsically liked with the Earth's tidal activity, the supermoon phenomena has a marked effect on our tides. It causes very low and high tides, with coastal storms a common phenomena during this period.
