Sunny Deol's Gadar 2 continues to do well at the box office in the second week of its release. The blockbuster's total income in the Indian market has topped Rs 419 crore and is expected to do well in the third week as well.

The movie's remarkable success can be gauged from its steady earnings of Rs 218.63 crore in the first week, followed by an impressive Rs 134.47 crore in the subsequent week.

A sequel to the 2001 hit film, 'Gadar 2' has struck a chord with audiences once again. The movie portrays Sunny Deol in the role of Tara, a truck driver, while Ameesha Patel essays the character of Sakina. The film is set against the backdrop of India's partition in 1947 and is now set in 1971.

The storyline of "Gadar 2" revolves around Tara Singh (Sunny Deol), who embarks on a journey to Pakistan to rescue his son, Charanjeet Singh, portrayed by Utkarsh Sharma, from the clutches of the Pakistani Army. With notable performances from Manish Wadhwa and Gaurav Chopra, the movie hit theatres on August 11, following in the footsteps of its predecessor.

Industry experts are now predicting that 'Gadar 2' is poised to challenge the domestic box office records set by iconic films like 'Pathaan' and 'Baahubali 2'. While 'Pathaan' currently holds the title of the highest domestic grosser at Rs 543.05 crore, 'Baahubali 2: The Conclusion' achieved a lifetime domestic collection of Rs 510.99 crore.
