Suniel Shetty slams ‘Koffee with Karan’ show format for controversial episode with KL Rahul

Bollywood Director Karan Johar’s talk show is well-known for controversies. While people love to watch the stars and celebrities sitting on that couch and talking about their personal lives, there have been times celebrities have landed themselves in the soup because of their statements.

One such popular celebrity who landed in a controversy after appearing in Director Karan Johar’s show was cricketer KL Rahul.

A few years ago, KL Rahul and Hardik Pandya appeared on the show and a statement made by the latter created an uproar on social media. Bollywood actor Suniel Shetty who is KL Rahul’s father-in-law recently commented on the controversy.


Speaking in an interview on a podcast with Ranveer Allahbadia, Shetty said that Hardik Pandya probably got carried away due to the format of the show.

He said that Pandya may have gotten carried away but the anchor of the chat show kept pushing as the format of the show is to get kids excited and say stuff and after that people demand a ban on Bollywood.

Commenting further, the ‘Hera Pheri’ actor said that both the anchor and the guest need to be responsible while speaking. He said that if someone asks a question and you can’t answer then it doesn’t mean you are inferior to anybody. One needs to say things as they are and they should be.

Speaking about his son-in-law KL Rahul, he said that he is extremely committed and is one of the softest human beings he has ever come across. Shetty added that it is not just true for KL Rahul but for any sportsperson, any athlete.
