Sun Pictures announces new title of superstar Rajinikanth's 'Thalaivar 169'

Rajinikanth is all set to return to the big screen with Nelson's directorial Jailer. The title and the poster of the film were revealed today.

The film was earlier titled 'Thalaivar 169'. The movie will be ready for production in August. The details of the cast and crew will be released soon.

According to reports, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Priyanka Arul Mohan, Ramya Krishnan, Redin Kingsley, and Yogi Babu are in talks for vital characters in the movie. In addition, Shivarajkumar, the Kannada Superstar, has confirmed his part in the project. He also confirmed that his scenes with Rajanikanth will be shot in Mysuru or Bengaluru.


The poster shows that Sivakarthikeyan is also a part of the project, and would probably play the younger version of Rajnikanth.

Anirudh Ravichander has been roped in to give the music for the film

Nelson made his directorial debut with Kolamaavu Kokila. His last film to hit the screens was Vijay's Beast.
