Sudha Murty warns people of falling for financial schemes using her face and voice.
Sudha Murty, wife of Infosys co-founder Narayan Murthy, uploaded a video message on microblogging site X, asking people to be cautious of any finance related scheme using her face and voice. In her message Murthy said that the videos circulating on the internet have been made without her knowledge or consent.

In a video message, Murty, who is also the chairperson of the Murty Trust, said she never speaks about investments or financial dealings as a matter of principle.

"I want to alert you to fake videos circulating online that falsely use my image and voice to promote financial schemes and investments. These are deepfakes created without my knowledge or consent," Murty said.

"Please do not make any financial decisions based on these fraudulent videos. I urge you to verify information through official channels and report any such content you encounter. Stay vigilant and stay safe. Jai Hind!" she posted on 'X' along with a video message.

Expressing concern, she said fake videos were circulating on Facebook in which her image and voice were used to promote investment schemes, claiming that investing USD 200 or Rs 20,000 would generate significantly higher returns. She said several such videos were circulating simultaneously and described them as false.

Murty said she was pained to learn that people she knew had invested money based on these messages and suffered losses. She urged the public not to believe financial transaction-related content circulating on social media platforms such as Facebook.

She reiterated that she only speaks about work, India’s culture, women and education, and never about investing money or earning returns. She warned that such messages were fake and would lead to financial loss.

Appealing to viewers, she asked them not to trust any financial transaction made in her name and advised them to verify any doubts by contacting a bank or sending an email. She also urged people to think carefully before investing and, if needed, to approach the police or a bank for verification, and to save their money and invest wisely.
