Stunning 'Dance of Light', world's most twisted towers, unveiled in China

'Dance of Light' skyscraper, one of the world's most twisted towers, has been unveiled in China. The tower, situated in Chongqing's Jiangbei district in Western China, has two double-curved sides that give the appearance of a twisted structure.

According the Aedas, the designer company of the building, it resembles the shape of the northern lights, the towers utilise the simple and elegant form of double-curved facades to create the impression that the building is being twisted.

The pictures of the building have gone viral on social media. Some images of the skyscraper have been shared by a user named Santanu Bhattacharya on Twitter. "One of world's most twisted & beautiful towers opened in Chongqing, China today. The Dance of Light tower, designed by architecture firm Aedas is 590 feet tall and features a twisted facade that emulates the shape of northern lights," he said in the tweet.



According to Aedas, what's innovative about the building is that it has a “twisting angle” of 8.8 degrees which is about 1.5 times more than other skyscrapers.

The unique 39-story building is meant to serve as a landmark in the business district, where each structure has been inspired by stars and other celestial phenomena.

When the sun rises, the curved façade shines, and the tower becomes the building of light. When night falls, the curved façade showcases reflections of twinkling lights.
