SSC Constable GD Recruitment 2026
The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has officially launched the online registration process for Constable (General Duty) roles in CAPFs and SSF, along with Rifleman (General Duty) positions in the Assam Rifles for the 2026 recruitment cycle. The commission has announced 25,487 vacancies across forces such as BSF, CISF, CRPF, ITBP, SSB, Assam Rifles, and the Secretariat Security Force.
Candidates who meet the eligibility criteria can now apply online through the official website ssc.gov.in.
According to the notification issued on December 1, 2025, applications will be accepted from December 1 to December 31, 2025 (until 11 PM). The last date for online fee payment is January 1, 2026 (11 PM). The application correction window will be available from January 8 to January 10, 2026 (till 11 PM).
The Computer-Based Examination (CBE) is tentatively scheduled to be held between February and April 2026.
The SSC has stated that these vacancies are provisional and may be adjusted later. Additionally, 10% of the posts are reserved for ex-servicemen. For most forces, vacancies will be allotted based on the candidate’s State/UT, whereas SSF recruitment will be conducted nationwide.
Applicants must:
- Be Indian citizens
- Have passed Matriculation/10th class from a recognised board by January 1, 2026
- Be 18 to 23 years old as of January 1, 2026, meaning they should have been born between January 2, 2003, and January 1, 2008
- Age relaxation will be provided according to government rules.
The recruitment procedure includes:
- Computer-Based Examination (CBE)
- Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
- Physical Standard Test (PST)
- Detailed Medical Examination (DME/RME)
- Document Verification

- Go to the official SSC website: ssc.gov.in
- Complete One-Time Registration (OTR) on the new portal — previous details from ssc.nic.in will not be valid
- Log in and open the Constable (GD) Examination 2026 application link
- Fill in the form with accurate personal and educational details
- Capture your live photograph as per instructions
- Upload your scanned signature (JPEG format, 10–20 KB)
- Pay the application fee through BHIM UPI, Net Banking, or debit/credit card
- Review all information carefully and submit the form
- Download and save the final application copy for future reference
