SSC CGL preference form. What is it, and how to fill it?

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has published the option-cum-preference form and the final list of vacancies for the Combined Graduate Level Examination (SSC CGL 2022).

As the name implies, the option-cum-preference form allows candidates to highlight their preferred posts that are available under the SSC CGL recruitment. It is basically a list of various posts along with their corresponding codes.

Posts are grouped under various categories, such as Group B, Group C, Group D etc.


While giving preference, candidates must review post-specific requirements such as physical standards, tests and medical standards, details of which are given at Annexures XVII & XVIII of the notice of examination.

Do note that once a post is allotted, no change will be made by the Commission, which also means if you fail the physical standards, physical tests, / medical standards, you will not be considered for any other post.

You must also have all the required educational, age, caste/ category certificate, PwBDs certificates.

Any in-congruence between declaration in application form/ Option-cum-Preference Form and requisite documents is found at any stage, the candidature is liable to be rejected, SSC has warned.

How to fill SSC CGL preference form

• Log in to the official website of SSC with your registration ..
• Find and click on the "Option Form" link under the SSC CGL ..
• Select your category (Group B, Group C, or Group D).
• Submit the form and download a copy for future reference.

The commission has also released the final list of vacancies for the Combined Graduate Level Examination (SSC CGL 2022) which you can refer to while giving your preference.
