SS Rajamouli paid a big amount to attend the Oscars in 2023; Here's how much the tickets cost

SS Rajamouli's ‘RRR’ broke all box office records and has received numerous accolades since its release, making headlines. The film’s ‘Naatu Naatu’ track won Best Original Song at the 95th Academy Awards, making India and the entire ‘RRR’ team proud.


The entire cast of the film, from the director to the lead actors, attended the Oscars 2023 red carpet. According to reports, the crew of the Academy did not give SS Rajamouli and the team free tickets to the event so they could watch it live.



Only the composer and lyricist of the song, MM Keeravani and Chandrabose, along with their wives, were granted free admission, while the rest of the crew had to pay a fee to witness the moment live.


According to the Academy Awards crew, only the awardee and their family members will be eligible for a free pass, while everyone else had to pay for a ticket to watch the event live.


SS Rajamouli thus purchased tickets for himself and other team members worth $25,000 USD, or Rs 20.6L per person. The ‘RRR’ director, on the other hand, was given the last row of the hall, despite the fact that the Academy association was heavily criticized for seating them near the exit gate.


SS Rajamouli was joined by his wife Rama Rajamouli and son Karthikeya and his wife. The film’s lead actor, Ram Charan, arrived with his wife Upasana, while NTR Jr also arrived with his wife and walked the Oscars 2023 carpet.


Music composer MM Keeravani also performed live at the Oscars 2023, while ‘Naatu Naatu’ singers Kaala Bhairava and Rahul Sipligunj received standing ovations for their performances.
