Spuddle! Anand Mahindra thinks the word deserves a revival

Anand Mahindra has come up with a word that can perfectly describe our mid-week absent-mindedness. The word is 'Spuddle', a 17th-century verb, that means to work feebly and ineffectively because your mind is elsewhere or you haven't quite woken up yet. To be extremely busy while achieving absolutely nothing.

Mahindra also asked netizens for solutions on how to quickly get out of a ‘spuddle’ moment at work.

He tweeted, "This word deserves a revival. Most known to happen mid-week, especially in post-pandemic times! Solutions solicited for how to quickly get out of a ‘spuddle’ moment at work..."


He also approved of a solution and that is masala chai

One Twitterati expected HR people to give anti-spuddle policies. He said, "SPUDDLE State of Performance Under Distress and Duress caused by Low Energy! SPUDDLE State of Performance Under Distress and Duress caused by Low Expectations! Now HR folks will give you Anti SPUDDLE Policies!"

Another Twitter user advised relaxing when those "spuddle" moments are realised, "The mind works & processes at speed faster than light, to expect same speeds with what humans(oneself or any being) could achieve in real-time,
