Sourav Ganguly Car Accident: Former Indian cricket captain and ex-BCCI chief Sourav Ganguly’s car met with a minor accident on Thursday near Dantanpur on the Durgapur Expressway while he was traveling to Bardhaman. The incident led to slight damage to his vehicle, but no injuries were reported. After the accident, Sourav Ganguly attended an event in Bardhaman and spoke about his proposed biopic. “From what I've heard, Rajkummar Rao will play the role (the titular role)...but there are issues of dates...so it will take more than a year to hit the screens,” Ganguly said.

According to reports, Ganguly was on his way to Bardhaman to attend an event when the accident took place. His Range Rover was moving at a normal speed when a lorry suddenly attempted to cut into his convoy, leading to a loss of control. In response, Ganguly’s driver applied the brakes immediately, causing the vehicles in the convoy to collide. The car behind Ganguly’s vehicle bumped into his Range Rover, but as the convoy was not moving at high speed, the damage was minimal.

Since the vehicles were traveling at a moderate speed, no one sustained injuries. However, two cars in the convoy suffered minor damage. Ganguly had to stop on the expressway for about 10 minutes before continuing his journey once the situation was under control.

Sourav Ganguly Attends event after accident

Despite the incident, Ganguly reached Bardhaman as scheduled and attended a program at Bardhaman University. Later, he participated in an event organized by the Bardhaman Sports Association.

“I am overwhelmed. It feels great to be in Burdwan. I am even more happy that you invited me. BDS (Burdwan Sports Association) was asking me to come for a long time. It feels great to be here today. CAB has been working with the Burdwan sports organization for 50 years. Many players have emerged from the district. We will have to recruit players from the district in the same way in the future as well,” Ganguly said at the event, as quoted by Hindustan.

The incident did not affect the overall schedule of his visit, and he participated in all planned engagements.
