Sony introduces FX30 4K Super 35 cinema camera in India: Price, Specifications, and More

Sony has introduced its newest addition to the Movie Line, the FX30 (ILME-FX30) 4K Super 35 small cinema camera in India. As a Cinema Line camera, it includes pro-level capabilities like Dual Base ISO, Log shooting modes, and the option to apply user-imported LUTs.

According to Sony, the FX30 is a cinema camera designed for aspiring filmmakers, with high sensitivity, low noise, and 14+ stops of dynamic range, as well as professional-level features such as S-Log3, built-in cinematic looks, and the BIONZ XR processing engine for natural gradations and realistic colour reproduction.


In terms of resolution, the Sony FX30 can shoot at 4K (upsampled from 6K) at up to 60fps, and it also has the capacity to film in high frame rates, like Full HD at 240fps and 4K at 120fps. In addition, the FX30 has 10-bit 4:2:2 recording settings and an HDMI Type-A connection for exporting 4K, 16-bit RAW video to an external recorder.

The flat-top design with threaded connection points on the Sony FX30 allows for comfortable handheld filming as well as mounting on a gimbal or attaching accessories. Users can use an XLR handle to capture low-angle photos. The FX30 includes two memory card ports that accept CFexpress Type A as well as SDXC/SDHC cards.
