Solar Eclipse 2022: Doors of many temples closed ahead of Surya Grahan
People in different parts of India are set to witness the final solar eclipse of the year on October 25 afternoon

The partial eclipse will start at 4.39 p.m. in Mumbai and will go on till 6.08 p.m., with the timings varying in different parts of the state and the rest of the country.
Surya Grahan is considered inauspicious in the Hindu faith, and Sutak will be applicable from 12.05 pm onwards today. Ahead of the partial eclipse, doors of several popular Hindu shrines and temples were closed for Tuesday.
The partial eclipse is expected to occur between 4.28 pm and 6.09 pm, which may vary from city to city. However, major Hindu religious sites, including Badrinath Dham, Kedarnath Dham, Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple, Sri Gnana Saraswathi Devi Temple, etc., decided to stay shut all day. After the Surya Grahan ends, puja will be performed in all the temples.

The Sutak becomes applicable during a Grahan, which is a set of dos and don’ts that every practising Hindu must follow. Especially kids, older people, and pregnant women are expected to adhere strictly to the Sutak regulations.
