Social media star Bhuvan Bam to play lead in Disney+ Hotstar series titled ‘Taaza Khabar’

Bhuvan Bam, social media star and actor, will star in Disney+ Hotstar's feel-good series, Taaza Khabar, the streaming platform announced Friday.

The show will take viewers on a refreshing new journey about a man who stumbles upon magic and the ripple effect it has on his humble life.
Bhuvan Bam said that preparing for this series was a humbling experience. He has previously starred in and web series “TVF Bachelors” and a short film named “Plus Minus”.


Bhuvan gave the statement that he is grateful he got to explore a completely new side to wishful thinking with hischaracter in Taaza Khabar. He is confident that emoting this character is going to be fun and that he relates to this character.

A Mumbai-set show centered on the life of a sanitation worker, this show explores poverty based on class and human aspirations for a better life.
The show is directed by Himank Gaur and the writers are Hussain and Abbas Dalal.
Himank Gaur said that Receiving miraculous powers is a wish every human being harbours whenever faced with hardships. They re-look at the idea of we re-look at the idea of wishful thinking and the consequences it can have if and when granted through Taaza Khabar. Bhuvan Bam brought to this realistic role his own personal flair that Iheam confident will win over viewers.

Rohit Raj, who has also produced “Plus Minus” described the upcoming series as “a plunge into a brand new genre”. He added that the the script is very exciting and he is looking forward to presenting a show that can be viewed and enjoyed by all.
The show also stars J D Chakravarthy, Shriya Pilgaonkar, Shilpa Shukla, Prathmesh Parab, Deven Bhojani, Nitya Mathur, and Mithilesh Chaturvedi.

A Hotstar Specials series, “Taaza Khabar” is currently under production.
