Social media influencer Sapna Gill accuses cricketer Prithvi Shaw of being drunk and striking her with a bat

A woman named Sapna Gill, a popular social media influencer, has accused cricketer Prithvi Shaw of being drunk and assaulting her with a bat.

This accusation comes after the woman was detained on Thursday for allegedly assaulting Shaw when he refused to take a photo with her and her friends for the second time. An officer from the Oshiwara Police Station said that the complaint has been filed against eight of the accused, including her.

Speaking to the media, Ali Kashif Khan Deshmukh, Gill's lawyer, said that Shaw had hit the woman with his bat.


Deshmukh said that a social media personality approached Prithvi Shaw in the five-star hotel as a fan and asked to take a photo with him. He claimed that the incident happened at a party when Prithvi Shaw was intoxicated and used a bat to strike Sapna.

Stressing the seriousness of the matter, the attorney said that they would logde a complaint against the player.

According to the lawyer, a case will be filed against Prithvi Shaw for driving under the influence of alcohol, hitting a motorcycle, and assaulting influencer Sapna with a bat. The charges against him will be filed under Sections 354, 509, and 334. The lawyer also clarified that there was no prior relationship between Sapna Gill and Prithvi Shaw.

Reportedly, cricketer Prithvi Shaw was approached by a group of people at a hotel who asked for selfies. After declining their persistent requests, the hotel manager asked the group to leave. Later, as Shaw and his friend were leaving the hotel, the same group confronted them with baseball bats, smashed the car windows, and demanded money from them. The complainant filed a case against the accused at the police station.
