Snapchat launches AI-Powered Chatbot "My AI" for Subscribers
Snapchat has launched a new chatbot called "My AI'' that runs on the latest version of OpenAI's GPT technology. The chatbot is currently available as an experimental feature for Snapchat+ subscribers and is pinned to the top of the Chat tab.

Unlike a search engine, "My AI" is intended to act as a person within Snapchat that users can chat with as they would with their friends. It adheres to Snapchat's trust and safety guidelines.
Snapchat warns that, like all AI-powered chatbots, "My AI" can be tricked into saying just about anything, which could lead to problems. To improve the product's experience, all conversations with My AI will be stored and reviewed. Snapchat also advises users not to share any secrets or rely on the chatbot for advice, as mistakes may occur.
Snapchat believes that over time, AI can enhance the app's experience and foster deeper connections. In the short term, My AI may boost the company's paid subscriber numbers, which recently exceeded two million.
Snapchat, in a recent blog post, highlighted that incorporating their new AI chatbot, "My AI," into the messaging platform has the potential to make these interactions with AI a significant attraction for their community. With the app reaching 750 million people per month, including 75% of 13- to 34-year-olds in over 20 countries, the company believes that AI can be incredibly additive to the app's experience, also helping to foster deeper connections.
