Months after Palaash Muchhal's wedding with Smriti Mandhana was called off, Salman Khan's co-actor Daisy Shah has come out in support of filmmaker and music composer. Daisy Shah has spoken about her personal experience of knowing him and called Palaash a "very good person". She also heaped praises on Palak and Palaash's family and called them "very grounded" people. Her remarks came at a time when Palaash is back in the spotlight after he announced his new directorial venture featuring Shreyas Talpade and Daisy herself in the lead. The project marks his first major professional announcement since his wedding with Smriti was called off in dramatic circumstances last year.

In a recent interaction with Filmygyan, Daisy Shah opened up about how she first met Palaash through his sister, singer Palak Muchhal. Palak had sung a track in Daisy’s debut film Jai Ho, and that connection gradually extended to the entire family.

Daisy Shah recalled their association started when Palak had done a song for Jai Ho. “Palaash is very good as a person. In fact, I have met him a couple of times. Palak had done a song for Jai Ho, so I have known her since then, so I frequently go to parties at Palak‘s home for birthdays and Ganpati Pooja, and that’s how I met Palaash. That’s how I got to know that he is a music composer and a director," Daisy Shah was quoted as saying.

Daisy Shah also opened up about her bond with the family and spoke fondly about the Muchhal family and the values they hold. Sharing her impression, she added, “I met his family, beautiful family, they are very grounded. They very much believe in God and I think that is the good part about them. Those who believe in God are positive people.”

Palaash Muchhal-Smriti Mandhana wedding controversy

Palash Muchhal and Smriti Mandhana were all set to get married on November 25, 2025, but the wedding was suddenly called off just a day before the ceremony. Initially, the media was informed that the decision had been made due to the poor health of Smriti’s father.

Soon after, several reports claimed that the wedding was cancelled because Palaash had allegedly cheated on the cricketer. The issue escalated quickly, drawing heavy media attention and putting both families under the spotlight.

During this period, Palaash was reportedly admitted to a hospital — the same venue where the wedding functions were scheduled — before later being shifted to Mumbai. Not long after, Smriti and Palash shared separate posts on social media confirming that their wedding had been officially cancelled.
