Smriti Mandhana and Palash Muchhal's wedding postponed after her father falls ill, says manager

The much-awaited wedding of Indian cricket star Smriti Mandhana and music composer Palash Muchhal has been unexpectedly postponed due to a sudden medical emergency in the Mandhana family.

Smriti’s manager, Tuhin Mishra, confirmed that her father, Srinivas Mandhana, is unwell and has been hospitalized, leading to the ceremony being put on hold indefinitely. He was rushed to a private hospital in Sangli for urgent treatment, and his condition required immediate attention.



Following the development, the wedding management team notified the media that the ceremony scheduled for today stands cancelled. Work has begun to remove the decorations at the Samdoli venue, where the couple was set to marry.

With no clarity on when the celebrations may resume, both families have appealed for privacy as they focus on Mr. Mandhana’s health and recovery.

Smriti and Palash were expected to exchange vows on November 23 in Sangli, Maharashtra, surrounded by close relatives and friends. Several members of India’s Women’s World Cup–winning squad were also present with Smriti during the pre-wedding events.

In recent days, social media had been buzzing with glimpses of their grand, Bollywood-style pre-wedding festivities. However, the couple will now have to wait before they can continue with their wedding plans.
