'Smriti and Aruna are ready for Iranis peace talks': Boman Irani reacts to viral joke about Donald Trump

Bollywood comedian Boman Irani has reacted to a viral buzz around Donald Trump reportedly wanting to speak to “Iranis” amid the ongoing West Asia tensions. While the geopolitical situation continues to impact regions beyond the conflict zone, including the UAE and India, Boman chose humour over heat, and the internet is loving it.

The ‘Iranis’ step up, with a menu

Boman Irani shared a video on Instagram, turning the trending phrase into a comic pitch for peace talks. He captioned it: “The Iranis are ready for peace talks with Mr. Donald Trump.”




In the video, he says, “So, as you may know, it’s going viral that Mr Donald Trump wants to speak to the Iranis. And three people have been beckoned. Talks are happening with Smriti ji, Aruna Irani ji, and me, Boman Irani. So, I am ready. I am ready to do anything for peace.”

He then added a distinctly local condition to his offer. “I have only one problem, I won’t go to Washington. I think it would be best if Trump sahab and his delegation come to Dadar Parsi Colony. We'll feed them dhansak, custard and other food. But if they bring along a big gas cylinder, I think it’ll make life very smooth for all of us.”

The actor ended the clip with a knowing smile and a thumbs-up, underlining the satire.

Internet laughs along

The video quickly picked up traction, with celebrities and fans joining the joke. Sameera Reddy called it “Epicccc,” while Siddharth wrote, “Bigly of you sir.” Farhan Akhtar and Ricky Kej also reacted with laughter.

Several users described the clip as “hilarious,” while others praised the actor’s wit. One even said they would forward the video to their Iranian friends.

Away from social media, Boman Irani has been busy on the film front. He made his directorial debut in 2025 with The Mehta Boys, starring Avinash Tiwary and Shreya Chaudhry. He also featured in Detective Sherdil and Tanvi the Great.

He began this year with The Raja Saab alongside Prabhas and has upcoming projects including Raja Shivaji with Riteish Deshmukh and Khosla Ka Ghosla 2.
