Popular actor Gaurav Gera is currently enjoying every bit of the limelight ever since 'Dhurandhar: The Revenge' has hit the theatres. Gaurav Gera's performance in Aditya Dhar's Dhurandhar 2 earned him widespread appreciation for his stunning performance in the movie. Amid this, the actor has shared a handwritten letter from 1998 which he wrote soon after he moved from Delhi to Mumbai to pursue acting.

In the letter, he wrote about having little money, struggling to find work in the city and living in a shared cottage. He also wrote about keeping up with rehearsals while thanking his parents for standing by him through the early years. Gaurav shared glimpses of his early days by posting handwritten letters he wrote to his parents back in 1998.

Gaurav Gera's letter goes viral

On Sunday, he posted images of two letters from that time, along with a heartfelt caption: “This letter to my parents – 3rd Dec 1998 .. less than a month that I moved to Mumbai this is 28 years ago .. so no emails , Letters.. of course after that lots tv , some films , ad films , musical play , Radio , TikTok , Reels .. been a lovely journey with ups and downs .. God has been kind.. but this Dhurandhared .. dunno what future holds .. but I wanna thank my 23 year old self for staying hopeful and Ma Pa for endless support #DhurandharTheRevenge."

What did he write in the letter?

The letters offer a candid look into his early struggles and aspirations. In one, he wrote, “Dear Mumma and Papa, How are you guys? I’m really well over here. Nothing has materialized on the money front for me but I hope to do well soon. There’s a lot of work here compared to Delhi." He continued, “In the mornings, I meet various people for work and evenings have my rehearsals. The play is a musical “Man Of La Mancha." It’s a very well-known musical and it’s a prestigious group to be associated with."

Giving details about his modest living conditions, he added, “The place I stay in is a small cottage and will be easy on the pocket also. Thousand rupees if me and Rajesh share we can give 11 months’ rent in a go also. Other expenses include telephone, electricity, gas and water bills and food. Mumma and Papa, the future is bright but I still have a lot to learn. It does take time to know the right people, so please understand. I’ll be heavy on your pocket, but trust me, not for long."

Gaurav Gera's fans shower him with love

Gaurav's fans showered him with a whole lot of love. The post struck an emotional chord with many, including his Dhurandhar 2 co-star Aditya Uppal, who commented, “bhai yar It got me teary man @gauravgera." Naveen Kaushik wrote, “Aur tab pata na tha ki aapki kahani itni khuubsoorat ho jayegi ek din."

Karan V Grover shared, “Great journey gera … Happy for u . Lage raho." Faisal Malik reacted with a red heart emoji, while singer Harshdeep Kaur commented, “Thank you for entertaining us all these years!! More success & happiness to you!"

Fans, too, were deeply moved. One user wrote, “Finally your work is getting its due credit," while another added, “What a journey!" A third comment read, “Wow this is priceless."
