Slain ex-Karnataka DGP's son 'strongly suspects' his mother and sister in his father's murder
A murder case has been filed against the wife and daughter of former Karnataka DGP Om Prakash, following a complaint by his son, Kartikesh. He alleges his mother, Pallavi, had threatened his father, leading him to stay at his sister's house.

In his complaint, Kartikesh mentioned that his father had moved to stay at his sister Sarita Kumari’s house due to these threats. However, Kartikesh claims that two days ago, his younger sister Kriti visited Kumari’s house and pressured their father to return home. He alleges that Kriti brought him back against his will.
On Sunday, around 5 pm, Kartikesh was at the Karnataka Golf Association in Domlur when he received a call from his neighbour, Jayashree Sridharan. She informed him that his father had been found lying downstairs. Kartikesh rushed home to find police officers and others present at the scene. His father was found lying in a pool of blood with injuries on his head and body. A broken bottle and a knife were found near his body. Om Prakash was later taken to St John's Hospital.
Kartikesh told PTI, "My mother Pallavi and my sister Kriti used to fight with my father often. I strongly suspect that they are involved in the murder of my father. I request to initiate legal action in this case."
Police have arrested Pallavi and Kriti in connection with the murder.
Om Prakash, a 68-year-old retired IPS officer, was originally from Champaran, Bihar. He held a Master's degree in Geology and served as the Director General of Police in Karnataka from March 1, 2015.
