The grandfather of Pune-based realtor Ketan Agarwal, whose death at Lohagad Fort is being investigated as a murder, has passed away weeks after the incident. According to a report by The Times of India, the family confirmed that Devichand Agarwal died on Saturday evening.

Devichand Agarwal, 71, reportedly suffered a cardiac arrest. Family members said his health had deteriorated following the death of his grandson.

Ketan Agarwal lost his life after falling into a gorge at Lohagad Fort near Pune in June. Although the incident was initially treated as an accidental fall, investigators later registered a murder case based on the evidence collected during the probe.

Police have named Agarwal's fiancée, Siya Goyal, as the prime accused. Investigators claim she was reluctant to go ahead with the marriage and was facing pressure from her family to continue with the wedding plans.

Police probe alleged Snapchat message

Meanwhile, as per the TOI report, the investigation has uncovered an alleged Snapchat conversation that police believe could be significant to the case.

Officials said the message was reportedly sent by Siya Goyal to one of her friends in May, nearly a month before Ketan Agarwal's death. According to investigators, the chat indicated that the planned wedding was unlikely to take place, even as preparations for the ceremony were underway.

Siya Goyal, 20, and Chetan Chaudhary, 22, who police describe as her alleged lover, were arrested last month. They are accused of pushing 25-year-old Ketan Agarwal into a gorge at Lohagad Fort in Pune district, resulting in his death.

In the alleged message, Goyal reportedly asked her friend to send scanned images of both sides of her Aadhaar card for travel bookings related to the wedding in Udaipur, while also stating that the marriage would not happen.

According to police, the message read: "Send your Aadhaar card front and back side photo for tickets for the wedding, which is anyway not going to take place, but still do send it."

Investigators said Agarwal's family had already begun arranging travel for relatives and guests and had requested Aadhaar details from Goyal's family to facilitate ticket bookings.

Police now intend to question the friend who received the alleged message to determine whether she had any prior knowledge of the suspected conspiracy. Authorities are also conducting forensic verification to establish the authenticity of the Snapchat communication.
