This post celebrates a remarkable accomplishment - the installation of the very first mobile tower in the challenging Siachen Glacier, recognized as the world's highest battlefield. Meanwhile, the installation of the first-ever mobile tower at the Siachen Glacier, located in the eastern Karakoram range of the Himalayas, has been officially announced on X by the Indian Army’s Leh-based Fire and Fury Corps. Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), a state-owned entity, played a crucial role in establishing the first-ever base transceiver station (BTS) at the forward posts of this formidable battleground. This feat took place on October 6, with the aim of extending mobile communication for soldiers stationed at over 15,500 feet.

Devusinh Chauhan, Union Minister of State for Communications, also joined the chorus of commendation as he shared photos of the mobile tower installed by BSNL alongside the Siachen warriors. In his tweet, he exclaimed, “BSNL with Siachen Warriors installs first-ever mobile tower at Siachen Glacier. Now our heroes can talk to their near and dear ones at their convenience. Kudos to @BSNLCorporate and #SiachenWarriors.”

Anand Mahindra, in echoing the sentiment of countless Indians, praised this initiative and shared the images on X.
