How Shikhar Dhawan Met Sophie Shine

As per reports, Shikhar Dhawan met Sophie Shine in Dubai a couple of years ago. What started as a simple friendship soon grew into something deeper. The duo were often seen together at cricket matches, social events and while travelling, sparking dating rumours.

They caught public attention during the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, when they were spotted watching a match together. From then on, fans and media alike began to connect the dots.

Later, Shikhar openly spoke about moving on in life during an interview at the Times Summit 2025.

“I have moved on. My earlier choices came from inexperience, but now I have experience,” he said, adding that it had been a learning journey for him.

When Shikhar Confirmed He Had Found Love Again

In the same interview, Shikhar gave a charming response when asked if he was ready to love again.

“I am always in love,” he said with a smile.

He avoided naming his partner at the time but jokingly added that the most beautiful woman in the room was his girlfriend. That light-hearted comment only added fuel to the curiosity around his love life.

It was in 2025 that Shikhar and Sophie finally made their relationship Instagram-official, sharing photos and videos together and giving fans a glimpse of their warm bond.

Who Is Sophie Shine?

Sophie Shine is an Irish Product Consultant with a strong background in marketing and management. She studied at Castleroy College in Ireland and later graduated from the Limerick Institute of Technology.

Professionally, Sophie works as a Second Vice President at Northern Trust Corporation and is currently based in Abu Dhabi, UAE. Apart from her corporate career, she is also the Head of the Shikhar Dhawan Foundation, actively supporting the cricketer’s charitable work.

Shikhar Dhawan’s Past Marriage and Divorce

Before Sophie came into his life, Shikhar Dhawan was married to Aesha Mukherji, a Melbourne-based kickboxer. The two met online, got engaged in 2008, and tied the knot in 2012. Shikhar also adopted Aesha’s two daughters from her previous marriage.

In 2014, the couple welcomed their son, Zoravar. However, their marriage hit rough patches and they separated in September 2021. The divorce was finalised in October 2023, with the court ruling in Shikhar’s favour on the grounds of mental cruelty.

Zoravar currently lives with Aesha, and Shikhar has previously shared that he has not been able to stay in touch with his son.
