Shark Tank India 5: Gurgaon founder stuns sharks with 430 free flights and Rs 15 lakh jewellery using credit card rewards
Shark Tank India Season 5: Gurugram-based founder Ashish Lath impressed Shark Tank India Season 5 by showcasing how his AI platform, SaveSage, helps users leverage credit card rewards. Lath revealed he and his wife have accumulated 430 free flight...

At the heart of the pitch was one striking claim: Ashish recovers over 23% of his total expenses through reward points. Anupam Mittal later admitted that this single line, casually mentioned by Ashish, stood out as the strongest part of the presentation.
What is SaveSage and what does it do?
As per the Gurgaon-based pitcher, SaveSage is an AI-powered app that helps users make the most of their credit cards. The platform studies a user’s spending pattern, identifies which credit card works best for a particular transaction, and tracks reward points to suggest the best possible deals. Also read | Looking for the best travel credit card? Ashish pointed out that India has nearly 11 crore credit cards, while an average user holds about 1.5 cards. Yet, most people fail to use reward points properly. SaveSage aims to change that by telling users exactly how to maximise the points they earn on every spend.
Ashish sought Rs 1 crore for 1% equity, valuing SaveSage at Rs 100 crore. In a personal reveal, he shared that he had earlier worked as Kunal Bahl’s Executive Assistant, adding an unexpected twist to the pitch.
Free flights, hotels and jewellery, no cash spent
Responding to doubts, Ashish dropped his biggest reveal. Over the past 10 years, he has not paid for flights for himself or his wife. During this period, they completed 350 domestic flights and 80 international trips, stayed 100 nights in hotels, and purchased jewellery worth Rs 15 lakh, all through reward points. He also added that in the last two years alone, he earned a 23% return value on his credit card spends.‘Ashish – 100, Aman – 0’
Right after the pitch, Aman Gupta challenged Ashish to a live contest to find the cheapest flight to Dubai. After a quick back-and-forth, Anupam Mittal declared the result: “Ashish – 100, Aman – 0”.As Ashish demonstrated the app’s features, Aman reacted with, “It’s solid”, while Anupam said, “Selling point is strong.” Namita Thapar also backed the idea, stating, “This model is great.”
Turning plastic money into real savings
Ashish Lath’s appearance on Shark Tank India 5 showed that credit cards, often seen as a debt trap, can become a powerful savings tool if used wisely. With SaveSage, he is betting that smart AI-backed decisions can help millions turn everyday spending into free travel, luxury stays and real returns. The Economic Times Business News App for the Latest News in Business, Sensex, Stock Market Updates & More.
