The Delhi residence made headlines again in July 2026, when Shah Rukh acquired the remaining floors of the building to become its sole owner. The development brought attention back to the house where the actor and Gauri started their life together before moving to Mumbai.

Shah Rukh Khan's Delhi house: Where he and Gauri began married life
Before Mumbai became the centre of Shah Rukh Khan's life and career, Delhi was home to the actor and Gauri Khan. Following their wedding in 1991, the couple began their married life at a residence in Panchsheel Park, South Delhi, before Shah Rukh moved to Mumbai to pursue acting full-time.The property has remained particularly significant to the family. Shah Rukh already owned the basement and first floor of the building, but in July 2026, he acquired the remaining second and third floors for approximately Rs 37 crore. The purchase made him the sole owner of the entire building, which spans around 10,800 square feet.
Gauri Khan has designed the interiors around the family's memories and personal collections. The house features wooden doors, antique-style furniture, warm lighting and framed family photographs. An antique rug displayed on the wall as artwork and a dedicated memory wall featuring keepsakes connected to the couple and their children, Aryan, Suhana and AbRam, add to its personal character.
The residence also received public attention in 2020 when Shah Rukh and Gauri collaborated with Airbnb on a contest that offered a selected pair an opportunity to stay at their Delhi home. Gauri had redesigned the interiors, retaining the personal memorabilia and family photographs that gave the property its character.
Shah Rukh Khan's house Mannat: The heritage bungalow that became King Khan's landmark home
Shah Rukh's move to Mumbai marked another major chapter in his life, eventually leading him to the property now known as Mannat. The actor reportedly first noticed the sea-facing bungalow in 1997 while shooting the song Chaand Taare for Yes Boss. He purchased it in 2001, and the residence has since become closely associated with his public image. However, the property has a history that predates the actor's ownership. Originally built in 1914, the bungalow was known as Villa Vienna and carries a Grade III heritage classification. Its original colonial-era facade is protected, which is why the Khan family developed a modern annexe behind the historic structure rather than altering the main bungalow. The six-storey extension accommodates the family's living spaces, creating a contrast between the preserved exterior and the contemporary interiors.
Inside Mannat: Private theatre, wooden study and family collections
The interiors of Mannat reflect Gauri Khan's design sensibilities, combining contemporary elements with classical details and personal memorabilia. One of the residence's distinctive features is a private screening room decorated in red, with vintage posters of films such as Sholay, Mughal-E-Azam and Ram Aur Shyam. It reportedly has 42 burgundy leather recliners and is also used to preview Shah Rukh's films. The actor's study has an entirely different atmosphere. Wood panelling covers the walls, with books, trophies, family photographs and artworks displayed throughout the room. Gauri has described it as a space where Shah Rukh spends much of his time when he is not shooting. The room also featured in the actor's 2017 AIB podcast appearance.
Another detail associated with the home is Gauri's reported preference for potted plants over cut flowers. The interiors feature ferns placed across tables and other surfaces, while vertical gardens have also been developed along the lawns facing the sea.
Mannat renovation: Why Shah Rukh Khan's family moved to Pali Hill
Mannat is currently undergoing extensive renovation and expansion work. The project involves adding two floors to the rear annexe, increasing the built-up area by approximately 616 square metres. The expansion has been estimated to cost around Rs 25 crore and required coastal-zone regulatory clearance because of the property's proximity to the sea and its heritage status. The original bungalow itself is not being extended with additional floors. While the work continues, Shah Rukh, Gauri and their children have been staying in two duplex apartments at Puja Casa in Mumbai's Pali Hill area. The family moved there in April 2025 under a 36-month lease arrangement. The combined monthly rent for the two apartments was reported at approximately Rs 24.15 lakh.
According to a Hindustan Times report published in August 2026, the renovation was expected to be completed by December 2026, after which the family could return to Mannat.
Shah Rukh Khan's house in Dubai
Away from his residences in India, Shah Rukh Khan also has a reported luxury villa in Dubai's Palm Jumeirah, known as Jannat. The property was reportedly presented to the actor by Dubai-based developer Nakheel in 2007. Its name, which means heaven, offers a contrast to the name of his Mumbai residence, Mannat.Gauri Khan designed the interiors of the Dubai property. Located on the K Frond of Palm Jumeirah, the villa is reported to stand on a plot measuring around 14,000 square feet and has six bedrooms, a private swimming pool and views of the beach. The property has also been described as a two-storey residence.
The villa gained attention through a promotional video in which Shah Rukh was seen spending time with his children, Aryan and Suhana, along the property's private beach. Its reported acquisition as a gift from Nakheel also attracted scrutiny from Indian tax authorities, who questioned whether it was connected to promotional activities for the developer.
From the home where their married life began in Delhi to the landmark bungalow in Mumbai and the villa in Dubai, the properties associated with Shah Rukh and Gauri Khan offer a glimpse into the family's personal milestones, design preferences and life beyond the film sets.
