All about Shah Rukh Khan's Mannat
Mannat, originally known as Villa Viena, was constructed in 1914 and purchased by Khan in 2001 after being initially offered to Salman Khan. The six-storeyed mansion, spanning 27,000 sq ft, blends vintage and modern architecture, reflecting Indian culture within and attracting a sea of fans outside. Mannat is considered one of the most expensive homes in India, with a reported worth of around Rs 200 crores, and has become a significant landmark contributing to Mumbai's tourism. The mansion's design incorporates a blend of vintage and modern architectural styles. Its exterior features a white facade with Gothic-style windows, leading to lush green gardens. A grand gate bearing Shah Rukh Khan's initials, "SRK," guards the entrance.
Inside, Mannat is adorned with rare artifacts and antiques collected from around the globe. A lifelike Marilyn Monroe statue is among the decorative elements. The grand living room is characterized by high ceilings, chandeliers, and plush sofas. The dining room features a large wooden table designed to host gatherings of up to 30 guests.
The residence comprises six uniquely designed bedrooms. The master suite offers a balcony with views of the Arabian Sea. Mannat also includes a prayer room, described as a serene space decorated with intricate Islamic art and religious artifacts, reflecting Khan's devout nature.
The history of Mannat dates back to 1914 when it was built as Villa Viena, a large bungalow with a garden owned by a Parsi family. In the 1990s, a real estate firm purchased Villa Viena. This firm initially offered the bungalow to Salman Khan before it was eventually bought by Shah Rukh Khan in 2001. Salman Khan has mentioned that Mannat was initially offered to him, but his father advised against buying such a large house at the beginning of his career.
