Several FIITJEE coaching centres closed
Several FIITJEE coaching centers across India have reportedly closed abruptly, affecting thousands of students preparing for exams. According to reports, centers in Noida, Meerut, Ghaziabad, Lucknow, Varanasi, Bhopal, Patna, and Delhi's Laxmi Nagar shut down within a week. The closures reportedly followed teacher resignations due to unpaid salaries and better opportunities elsewhere. Parents and students have raised concerns as the institute failed to issue refunds despite halting classes, leading to police complaints in various locations.

Centres closed across multiple states

The closures include centres in Noida Sector 62, Meerut, Ghaziabad, Lucknow, and Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh, as well as locations in Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh), Patna (Bihar), and Laxmi Nagar (Delhi). The Noida centre was the latest to close on Wednesday.

Parents demand answers

Parents and students now face uncertainty as important board and entrance exams approach. Many are demanding refunds or a swift resumption of classes to salvage their preparation. A protest was also held outside the Noida centre by affected parents, who also filed a complaint at the Sector 58 police station.

Probe started in Ghaziabad

In light of these disruptions, the Ghaziabad district education department has ramped up inspections of coaching centres across the city. The focus is on ensuring compliance with the UP Coaching Regulation Act, 2002, which mandates registration for all coaching centres.

“Block education officers have been instructed to ensure all coaching centres in the district are registered as mandated. The drive is aimed at safeguarding students' interests and preventing disruptions like the recent case of an unregistered centre shutting down abruptly,” District inspector of schools (DIOS) Dharmendra Sharma told TOI earlier this week.
