David Rush, a serial record breaker from Idaho, has broken another one by chopping 56 apples in a minute while he kept bouncing on a pogo stick.

The 'pogo stick fruit ninja' managed to hit 63 of the 74 apples lobbed at him by his neighbour Jonathan Hannon, of which 56 were considered good enough to be counted.

Rush said the most difficult part of the record was learning to bounce on a pogo stick without using his hands. A video of his stunt which broke the existing Guinness World Record was posted on YouTube.

Rush has till now broken over 250 Guinness World Records to promote STEM education. The 250th one came earlier in October was when he blew a pea 84 feet and 11.28 inches and recaptured a record which was once his for many years.

These are his other famous records

  • Greatest distance travelled (5.4 kms) while balancing a guitar on the chin.
  • Running a half marathon in in 2 hours, 47 minutes and 55 seconds while wearing 111 t-shirts.
  • Holding 150 lit candles in his mouth for 30 seconds.
  • Inflating 10 balloons in 60 seconds using just his nose.
  • Balancing a chainsaw on his chin for 37 minutes.
