'Selfiee' trailer out: Akshay Kumar and Emraan Hashmi's face-off will keep you hooked to your seats

The makers of 'Selfiee' on Sunday unveiled the trailer of Akshay Kumar and Emraan Hashmi's highly anticipated film. The first instance of the film takes the audience back to SRK's era since both films have the same rivalry between a superstar and his superfan.

In the 2016 film directed by Maneesh Sharma, SRK took on the roles of both the superstar Aryan Khan and his biggest fan Gaurav Chandna. Meanwhile, in Selfie, Akshay Kumar portrays Bollywood celebrity, Vijay Kumar, whereas Emraan Hashmi plays Om Prakash, an RTO inspector. On the other hand, the female lead in the film will be Nushrratt Bharuccha and Diana Penty.

The trailer depicts Om along with his son as the biggest fans of Vijay. However, when Vijay pressurises Om to immediately give him the driving licence as he is in urgent need. Om, on the other hand, asks Vijay to undertake all the tests. With this, a massive rivalry erupted between the superstar and his superfan attracting the media and public attention.


Meanwhile, the movie is helmed by Raj Mehta, and the film is the Hindi remake of the Malayalam film Driving License. The Malayalam version of the film starred Prithviraj Sukumaran as the film star, whereas Suraj Venjaramoodu portrays the role of the motor vehicle inspector. The movie was helmed by Lal Jr. aka Jean Paul Lal and was released in 2019.

Meanwhile, Akshay Kumar and Emraan Hashmi-starrer are set to hit the big screens on February 24, 2023, and the movie is presented by Star Studios in association with Dharma Productions, Prithviraj Productions, Magic Frames & Cape Of Good Films.
