In Uttar Pradesh, district authorities have ordered school closures in major religious cities including Ayodhya and Varanasi due to heavy crowd movement linked to the Maha Kumbh’s reverse flow (Palat Pravah). Schools up to Class 12 in Ayodhya will remain closed from February 11 to 14, 2026. In Varanasi, schools up to Grade 8 have been closed until February 14, while schools in Mirzapur will remain shut until February 13.
