‘Scariest 5 minutes of my life’: Bengaluru woman shares startling auto ride experience

A Bengaluru woman recently shared her unnerving auto ride experience on Twitter, calling it one of the "scariest five minutes" of her life.

In her tweet, she explained that while riding in an auto, she suddenly felt someone touching her from behind. Fearing the worst, she glanced back and was startled to find a young child sleeping there.

“Scariest 5 mins of my life. This was me in an auto in Bangalore. I felt like someone was touching me from behind, saw a kid sleeping over there," she wrote, adding that she initially wondered if the child had been kidnapped.


“Was she kidnapped? Why is she there?” she questioned in her tweet.

However, her fear turned to relief when the child woke up and called the driver "Appa," revealing she was the auto driver’s daughter. “Then she woke up and called the auto driver ‘Appa,’ and then I could breathe,” the woman tweeted.



Her story resonated with other users, including one who shared a similar experience. He recounted suspecting a man who regularly sat outside his home, fearing he might be planning a robbery. To his surprise, he later discovered the man was the husband of his maid, who was waiting with their children for her to finish work.

Another user commented on the tendency to have negative biases against auto drivers, suggesting such experiences are a reminder not to jump to conclusions.
