Mumbai batsman Sarfaraz Khan is in a scorching run of form this Ranji season, and he showed ample evidence of it with a hundred against Uttarakhand in the second quarter final.

The burly righthander smashed 153 of 205 balls with 14 fours and four maximums, accelerating in stages against the hapless Uttarakhand bowlers, before he was castled by Mayank Mishra.


The 24-year-old now has a double century and two centuries in his last five Ranji innings - and this match is not even over. His list of scores reads: 275, 63, 48, 165 and 153.



His fans on Twitter celebrated his innings, with many pointing out that this run of scores was ample proof that he should be playing consistently at the highest level.

Sarfaraz has been making a name for himself in junior and domestic cricket ever since he broke through at the age of 12 in a Harris Shield match, scoring 439 runs to break Sachin Tendulkar's 45-year-old record.
