The first teaser of Sara Ali Khan starrer movie ‘Ae Watan Mere Watan’ is out. The movie is inspired by true events of India’s freedom struggle.

Sara Ali Khan's new film ‘Ae Watan Mere Watan’ released its first look, ahead of India’s 74th Republic Day. Sara will play the role of a strong freedom fighter .

The movie inspired by true events is directed by Kannan Iyer and produced by Karan Johar and Apoorva Mehta.

The new teaser of Ae Watan Mere Watan starts with the young girl closing the curtains and hurriedly setting up a radio device in a dimly lit room. The camera reveals that the young girl is Sara Ali Khan who confidently takes the mic and says that the Britishers think they have crushed our Quit India Movement, but this is India’s voice that can never be silenced and will echo everywhere in the country. She is being interrupted by a strong incessant banging on the door.


The film portrays the journey of a college girl who later joined the Quit India movement and becomes a freedom fighter.

Ae Watan Mere Watan is an inspiring tribute to all the fearless freedom fighters. This tale of courage, sacrifice, patriotism takes place against the backdrop of 1942 Quit India movement.

Director Kannan Iyer said during the press release that it is an absolute honour to be directing this story inspired by true events. He later thanked Prime Video and Dharmatic Entertainment for bringing the lesser known stories of our independence struggle to the audience.
