He wrote, "You all have always believed in me and loved me, but now, suddenly, some serious deterioration has come to light in my health. Treatment is underway, and I will come out of this soon. As per medical advice, I have been restricted from going out and mixing with crowds. There is no way around it."
"I am sure that I will recover well and come to meet you in the new year. May your love and blessings remain the same," the note added. A bitter critic of the ruling BJP and a vocal voice of the Opposition in Maharashtra, the Rajya Sabha MP is known for his daily media interactions. Raut was expected to take part in the Opposition parties' protest against the Election Commission on November 1.
Wishes pour in for Sanjay Raut
Messages of concern and support flooded social media on Friday after Sanjay Raut announced that he is stepping away from public life due to a “serious health issue.” Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday extended wishes for a speedy recovery to Raut. “Shiv Sena leader Sanjayji Raut has also decided to take a break from social life for a few days due to his ill health.”
"Mr. Raut is a fighter leader. There is confidence that he will soon make a strong comeback. Wishing him excellent and robust health, and that his condition improves at the earliest..," he wrote on X.
AICC in-charge for Himachal Pradesh and Chandigarh, Rajani Patil, noted that Raut’s health had “suddenly deteriorated.
“MP Sanjay Raut's health suddenly deteriorated. A bold personality who was not even afraid to go to jail. May his health recover as soon as possible and he return to social and political work—this is my sincere wish..”
Rais Shaikh, MLA from Bhiwandi (East), said he was praying for Raut’s swift recovery. "Wishing Sanjay Raut Ji a speedy recovery. Praying for his good health and strength. May he return soon with renewed energy and continue his dedicated service to Maharashtra and the people," he wrote.
