Samsung teases next-gen foldables: Galaxy Z Fold 8, Ultra, Flip 8 expected at Unpacked
Samsung is teasing its next-generation foldable phones, with the Galaxy Z Fold 8, Fold 8 Ultra, and Flip 8 widely expected at an upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event. Leaks suggest a July 22 launch, hinting at a wider design for the Fold 8 and potential...

The teasers don't show any devices outright. Instead, they feature everyday objects — from pizza slices to chocolate bars — morphing into familiar foldable shapes, hinting at Samsung's next design direction.
The timing of the teasers has fuelled speculation that Samsung's next foldables are just weeks away. According to a report by TechRadar, multiple leaks point to July 22 as the likely date for the next Galaxy Unpacked event, although Samsung has not officially confirmed the launch date.
What could Samsung launch?
If recent leaks are accurate, Samsung is expected to unveil three foldables this year — the Galaxy Z Fold 8, Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra and Galaxy Z Flip 8.
According to TechRadar, citing noted tipster Ahmed Qwaider, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 could feature a 7.6-inch 120Hz foldable display alongside a 5.5-inch cover screen, both with QHD+ resolution. The device is also tipped to be powered by Qualcomm's flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, paired with 12GB RAM and storage options of 256GB, 512GB and 1TB.
The leak further suggests the phone may sport a 50MP primary camera, a 50MP ultra-wide sensor and dual 10MP selfie cameras, along with a 4,800mAh battery. The device is also said to weigh 201 grams.
Interestingly, TechRadar noted that this year's Galaxy Z Fold 8 is expected to be a new, wider foldable form factor, while the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra could serve as the true successor to last year's Galaxy Z Fold 7.
Renders hint at a wider Fold
Separately, Android Headlines recently published leaked renders showing the Galaxy Z Fold 8, Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra and Galaxy Z Flip 8 inside official-looking cases.
According to the publication, the renders suggest the Fold 8 adopts a noticeably shorter and wider design, while the Fold 8 Ultra and Flip 8 retain a look closer to their predecessors.
One flagship feature may be missing
Not all the rumours have been positive.
Veteran leaker @UniverseIce reported that none of Samsung's upcoming foldables are expected to feature the Privacy Display technology introduced on the Galaxy S26 Ultra. The feature limits screen visibility from side angles, helping protect sensitive information from prying eyes.
If accurate, it would mean one of Samsung's newest display innovations may remain exclusive to its flagship Galaxy S series for now.
For now, Samsung is keeping the spotlight firmly on its teasers. But with leaks painting an increasingly detailed picture of the upcoming lineup, the wait for the company's next foldables may not be much longer.
