Samsung launches Smart Monitor M8 with smart features. Here are the details

Following its international debut, Samsung has launched its Smart monitor in India. Called M8, it is a 32-inch monitor which has a SlimFit Camera. The monitor supports the Smart Hub function, which allows you to access VoD (Video on Demand) platforms like Amazon Prime Video, Netflix, Apple TV, Disney + and the like in 4K HDR resolution.

With the M8 monitor, you don’t need a PC or a TV. You can connect the M8 monitor to different smart devices through the upgraded Smart Hub.

Specifications of Samsung Smart M8 Monitor
The M8 monitor from Samsung boasts a 32-inch screen with a 4K (3840 * 2160 pixels) HDR 10+ display. The peak brightness of the monitor is 400 nits. It comes with a height-adjustable stand and a magnetic and detachable SlimFit camera which is wireless and provides full HD resolution. The SlimFit camera offers Auto Zoom and Face Tracking features that enhance the video conferencing experience.


There are two 5W speakers inbuilt into the monitor, and Microsoft Teams and Google Duo are supported for video calls.

Besides providing PC-less access to VoD platforms, you can also enjoy Samsung TV Plus. You would not have to download the content or sign-up for the same. Furthermore, Samsung TV Plus content would also come with personalised recommendations from Universal Guide.

You don’t have to connect the monitor to a PC to browse the internet or edit documents. You can wirelessly connect to a Windows or a MAC PC and get everything on one screen with the Workspace User Interface. By clicking with an external PC, you can get access to Apple AirPlay 2, Samsung DeX and Microsoft 365. There is also the option of mirroring the content from your Smartphone to the Smart Monitor M8.

The monitor also features the Smart Things Hub, with which you can connect and track IoT devices wirelessly. There is also a Far-Field Voice microphone with Amazon Alexa and Samsung Bixby voice assistants. Even if you turn off the monitor, the Always-on Voice will display conversations when Bixby is activated.

The monitor has a flat back design and a thickness of 11.4 mm. Other adaptive features include display brightness and colour temperature adjustments.

Buying Samsung M8 monitor
Priced at Rs 59,999, the M8 monitor is open for pre-booking at Samsung’s official website. From June 15, 2022, the monitor will be available on Amazon, Samsung stores, and other leading retailers. The available colours would include Sunset Pink and Spring Green. Two more colour options, Warm White and Daylight Blue, will be available later in the year.
