Samsung’s current Ultra flagship has become significantly more affordable, with its price dropping to the lowest level seen so far on an online platform. The Galaxy S25 Ultra has received a sharp price cut on Amazon despite the absence of a major sale event, suggesting retailers are clearing inventory ahead of the expected launch of the Galaxy S26 Ultra next month. The timing makes the discounted flagship a compelling option for buyers seeking a premium smartphone at a reduced price.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra price drop explained

Launched in India at Rs 1,29,999 for the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage variant, the Galaxy S25 Ultra is now listed on Amazon at Rs 1,07,440 in the Titanium Gray colour. This reflects a direct price cut of Rs 22,559. An additional Rs 1,500 instant discount on select HDFC bank cards further brings the effective price down to Rs 1,05,940, strengthening its value proposition in the premium segment.

Performance and software

Despite being nearly a year old, the Galaxy S25 Ultra remains a high-performance device. It is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, paired with 12GB RAM, and runs on Android 15 with One UI 7. Day-to-day usage remains smooth, and the phone handles demanding tasks and high-end gaming titles without noticeable throttling or overheating, keeping it competitive among current Android flagships.

Display and design

The smartphone features a 6.9-inch QHD+ LTPO AMOLED display with a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate. With peak brightness of up to 2,600 nits, the screen remains clearly visible outdoors. Support for 10-bit colours and an anti-reflective coating enhance viewing quality, while slimmer bezels and a refined design with slightly rounded corners reinforce its premium appeal.

Battery and charging

The Galaxy S25 Ultra is backed by a 5,000mAh battery that delivers reliable all-day usage for most users. It supports 45W wired fast charging, allowing for reasonably quick top-ups. However, the absence of a charger in the box continues to be a limitation at this price point.

Camera capabilities

Cameras have long been a strength of Samsung’s Ultra series, and the Galaxy S25 Ultra continues that trend. The phone is equipped with a 200MP primary sensor, supported by an improved ultra-wide camera that enhances detail and edge sharpness. Its Night Mode, powered by Samsung’s Nightography, allows the camera system to deliver consistent and detailed results across lighting conditions.

Should you buy the Galaxy S25 Ultra now

The price cut makes the Galaxy S25 Ultra a compelling choice for buyers seeking a premium Android phone below its launch price. It still delivers flagship performance, an excellent display, reliable battery life, versatile cameras and S Pen support. However, with the Galaxy S26 Ultra expected soon, those prioritising the latest hardware and longer software support may prefer to wait. For others, the discounted S25 Ultra offers strong value in the flagship segment.
