Ahead of the launch, Samsung has been teasing its upcoming foldables through a series of videos featuring everyday objects—from pizza slices to chocolate bars—transforming into foldable shapes. Without revealing the devices, the company said the teasers highlight its continued focus on expanding its foldable lineup to suit different ways people work, create, communicate and consume content.
What to expect
If recent leaks are accurate, Samsung could unveil three foldables this year—the Galaxy Z Fold 8, Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra and Galaxy Z Flip 8.
The Galaxy Z Fold 8 is tipped to feature a 7.6-inch foldable display paired with a 5.5-inch cover screen, both supporting a 120Hz refresh rate. It is also expected to be powered by Qualcomm's flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, with up to 12GB RAM and 1TB of storage.
Camera upgrades could include a 50MP primary sensor, a 50MP ultra-wide camera and dual 10MP selfie cameras, while the battery is expected to remain at 4,800mAh.
Leaked renders have also suggested Samsung may introduce a shorter and wider design for the Galaxy Z Fold 8, making the foldable easier to use when closed. Meanwhile, the Fold 8 Ultra and Flip 8 are expected to retain a design closer to their predecessors.
Samsung is also tipped to launch new accessories, including silicone and aramid fibre cases, with some expected to support magnetic wireless charging.
One feature that may be missing, however, is the Privacy Display technology introduced on the Galaxy S26 Ultra. According to leaks, Samsung's upcoming foldables are unlikely to include the feature, which limits screen visibility from side angles to help protect sensitive information.
Samsung has also opened registrations for Galaxy Unpacked on its website, where users can sign up to receive launch updates, teasers and exclusive offers ahead of the event.
