Samantha Ruth Prabhu begins shooting for ‘Citadel’. Here are details

Samantha Ruth Prabhu has begun filming for her upcoming film Citadel India. The film directed by Raj and DK will also feature Varun Dhawan along with Samantha.

Samantha, who is being treated for the auto-immune disease Myositis, has returned to work. Following a lengthy sabbatical, Samantha will be part of the Russo Brothers Indian spinoff of the fiction series Citadel within the next two weeks. Varun Dhawan wrapped up the film's first four-day shoot without Samantha a few weeks ago. He had planned a few high-octane action scenes.

Richard Madden will play Citadel agent Mason Kane, and Priyanka Chopra will play Citadel agent Nadia Singh in 'The Citadel- Russo Brothers' big project. The main series wrapped filming in June 2022 and is currently in post-production.


Meanwhile, Samantha is preparing for the release of Shaakuntalam, her next film.

On February 17 2023, the film will be released in theatres. Shaakuntalam, based on Kalidasa's acclaimed Sanskrit play Abhijnana Shakuntalam, is written and directed by award-winning director Gunasekhar and also stars Dev Mohan.

Samantha u has always been known to wear her heart on her sleeve. She'll be back on the sets of Vijay Deverakonda's Kushi soon after Citadel's first schedule. The first schedule of the film, written and directed by Shiva Nirvana, was completed in Kashmir. Because Samantha had to fly to the United States for Myositis treatment, the film's producers were unable to complete the rest schedules and decided to push the release date to Summer 2023.
